Dark Souls II for the PS3 was the #1 selling game in Japan for March 10-16, 2014


“Dark Souls II” (ダークソウル II) from FROM SOFTWARE for the PS3 takes the #1 position on the charts (March 10-16) at the best selling game of the week. “Dark Souls II” sold 255,197 copies, Yokai Watch from Level 5 for the Nintendo 3DS stays at #2 with 37,247 copies sold while “Dragon Quest Monsters 2 – Iru to Ruka no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi” from Square Enix stays at #3 for the 3DS with 18,728 copies sold.

One Piece Vol. 73 by Eichiro Oda is the #1 manga for the second straight week in Japan


Eichiro Oda takes the #1 spot for the week for the second straight week with 348,844 more copies of “One Piece” vol. 73 sold in Japan, while “Gin no Saji – Silver Spoon” vol. 11 takes #2 with 155,409 additional copies sold and Naruto vol. 68 by Masashi Kishimoto takes #3 with 128,045 additional copies sold

World Order goes to Akiba and the AKB48 Theater for their “Have a Nice Day” PV

How awesome is it to see World Order again with a new music video titled “Have a Nice Day” and seeing the group visit Akihabara and visiting the AKB48 Theater (and  yes, even a cameo from AKB48) and do the wotagei dance ->


Sashihara Rino declares her aim for #1 for the AKB48G General Elections and to be the first person to be #1 for consecutive years!

She shocked fans when she took the #1 spot at the 5th annual General Elections (Senbatsu Sosenkyou) and now HKT48/AKB48 member Sashihara Rino (21) wants to do it again!  If Sashihara Rino gets #1 (to be held on June 7th), she will be the first AKB48 member to win the #1 for two consecutive years.

Oshima Yuko holds solo event for fans



With less than three months until Oshima Yuko graduates from AKB48 (June 2nd is her graduation day), Oshima held a “Oshima Yuko Kansha-sai” event for her fans.

The museum showcases sneakers from Oshima’s private collection, her dresses that she wore in her music videos and other items covering her years as a member of AKB48.

Oshima also performed live for her fans and told everyone that she has no regrets of graduating from AKB48.

Ikoma Rina qualifies for AKB48G Senbatsu, to co-host Shonen Jump-related TV show


Nogizaka46 and concurrent AKB48 Team B member Ikoma Rina has had a great week.

The teen graduated from high school, promoted her upcoming Jump Police TV show which airs on April 4th on TV Tokyo and now the announcement that she will qualify for senbatsu, which will no doubt rattle things for the AKB48G.

PON!’s Spring Festival to feature idols galore

“Pon!”, a morning variety show featured on NTV, will be having their annual spring music festival from 3/21-3/29.

This year’s theme are idol singers/idol groups.

Scheduled to appear are Berryz Kobo, Fairies, former AKB48 member Kasai Tomomi, Lead, LinQ, Idoling NEO, Denpagumi Inc., TEMPURA KIDZ, Nakagawa Shoko, Lead, BEE SHUFFLE, palet, Kahala Tomomi, Sanmyu and more!


AKB48’s Oshima Yuko to graduate on June 2nd


It was announced on March 20th that Oshima Yuko will be graduating from AKB48 on June 2nd.

The Team K captain will continue to perform in concert and appear at the AKB theater for performances and handshake meetings through May 24th.
