Tokyo Love Story to receive a manga sequel

Fumi Saimon is best known for her manga “Tokyo Love Story” that became popular drama series.

Fumi won a Kodansha Manga Award in 1983 for “P.S. Genki Desu, Shunpei” and in 1992, she won a Shogakukan Manga Award for general manga for “Kazoku no Shokutaku” and “Asunaro Hakusho”.

And now to celebrate the 25th anniversary for “Tokyo Love Story”, Fumi wants to create a sequel and a one-shot is featured in “Weekly Big Comic Spirits.

AKB48’s Iwasa Misaki announces her graduation

Enka singer and AKB48 member Iwasa Misaki (21) a.k.a. Wasamin had her first solo concert in Tokyo at Asakusa public hall on the 30th and announced her graduation from AKB48.

The announcement shocked her fans at the venue but it does make sense as Wasamin has been focusing on her enka career for the past few years.

Wasamin released her first single “Mujin Eki” back in February 2012 and have since released a total of five singles and one album.

Wasamin joined AKB48 in 2008 as Kenkyuusei and was promoted to Team A in 2009.

RIP Shigeru Mizuki Shigeru (creator of “GeGeGe No Kitaro”)

On January 31st, 7,000 people came to say goodbye to “GeGeGe no Kitaro” creator, Shigeru Mizuki.

While I never had the opportunity to meet Mizuki-san, I did make the effort to visit the “GeGeGe no Kitaro” attraction at Fuji-Q.

The scandal is taking its toll on Becky as various media is reporting that she is going through a mental and physical breakdown and has ceased her performance on the Saturday Fuji program “Niji Irojin”

We can only hope she can bounce back up, get healthy and back to being the smiling Becky as before.

Saitou Takumi and Kojiharu… So steamy!

Sure, it’s not so scandalous as the photo is for An-An Magazine but when the photo of Saitou Takumi and Kojima Haruna came out, the magazine used the opportunity to make it sound like it was scandalous but in reality, the two were in a photoshoot together.  The photo above taken five minutes after they met.

Saitou is best known as playing Miles Edgeworth in “Ace Attorney” and Yamamoto on “Space Battleship Yamato”, while Kojima “KojiHaru” Haruna is best known as one of the original members (and still active member) of AKB48.

globe’s Marc Panther has created a new musical unit, EDO (e-dee-o).  Focusing on EDM music, EDO wants to bring their music to the world.

Members include Panther, producer Yokota Daichi, fashion show music director Claudio and support member, shamisen musician TENBI.

Producer will be t-kimura, member of m.o.v.e and Favorite Blue.

Marukome hits home run with anime commercials

In the United States, Hallmark is known for their touching commercials.

While we have seen several Asian countries showcase their own touching commercials that have gone viral, Japanese miso soup paste producer, Marukome, is tugging on people’s emotions with their touching anime commercials.

AKB48 Team K 6th Stage “RESET” song “Kiseki wa ma ni awanai” takes #1 at AKB48 Request Hour Set List Best 100 2016

With the graduation of long-time AKB48 popular member Miyazawa Sae coming in a few months, fans made sure to get her Team K song “Kiseki wa ma ni awanai” (originally featured in “AKB48 Team K 6th Stage ‘RESET'” and sung by Miyazawa, Yonezawa Rumi and Nonaka Misato) to #1.

#5 was AKB48’s “Eien no Pressure”, #4 was AKB48’s “Halloween Night”, #3 was Team 8’s “47 no Suteki na Machi e”, #2 was SKE48’s “Boku wa Shitteiru”.

Last year’s #1 song “Suzukake no ki no michi de “Kimi no hohoemi wo yume ni miru” to itte shimattara bokutachi no kankei wa dou kawatte shimau no ka, boku nari ni nan nichi ka kangaeta ue de no yaya kihazukashii ketsuron no you na mono” was ranked #37.
