Tanabe Miku wins 7th Annual AKB48 Janken Senbatsu

The 7yh annual AKB48 Janken Taikai is now over.

As with previous Janken Taikai yearly competitions, the winner will become the center for the AKB48 single released at the end of the year and the top 16 qualifiers will be featured for the single and music video.

And in the final two, AKB48 Team B’s Tanabe Miku (Tanamin) took on AKB48 Team K member Yumoto Ami.  And as Yumoto threw scissors, Tanabe threw rock and won the competition.  Leaving the third generation AKB48 member in tears including friends Watanabe Mayu and Kashiwagi Yuki.


Haruka “Paruru” Shimazaki to graduate from AKB48

Haruka “Paruru” Shimazaki (22) appeared at an event for “Baitoru NEXT” in Akihabara.

She announced that she will be graduating from AKB48 at the end of the year.

Shimazaki has done well as an actress and said that she also has dreams of becoming a Studio Ghibli voice actress.

Her final handshake meeting will be on December 24th at Makuhari Messe in Chiba and her final performance at the AKB48 Theater in Akihabara will be on December 26th.

Paruru joined AKB48 in 2009 and became the center after winning the “the third Janken senbatsu tournament”.

For AKB48’s 46th single to be released on November 16th, she will be the center.

AKB48’s “Koisuru Fortune Cookie” music video surpasses 100,000,000 views

AKB48’s 2013 hit single “Koisuru Fortune Cookie” has achieved many milestones for the idol pop group.  And now, it has reached another milestone of surpassing 100,000,000 views on YouTube.

The single is the second AKB48 single (after “Heavy Rotation”) to surpass that number of views on YouTube.

AKB48 member Maeda Aki to graduate

Maeda Ami (“Aamin”) has been a member of AKB48’s Team A since 2008.

As a 7th Generation Member, Aamin was known for her eyebrows (compared to Vanellope of “Wreck-It Ralph”) and her sweet nature.

And now Aamin will be graduating from AKB48.

No dates has been announced of the final day for Aamin.

Takamina Minami expects Sashihara Rino to come in first place for the AKB48 General Election

Newly graduated from AKB48, Takahashi Minami (24) was appointed the new MC of the DAM CHANNEL.

When asked who she thinks will win this year’s AKB48 General Election, Takahashi said she expects Sashihara Rino.

Mukaichi Mion to be the center of the AKB48 44th single

18-year-old Mukaichi Mion, who joined AKB48 back in 2013, will become the next center for the 44th single.

Former AKB48 member Oshima Yuko selected Mion to be the center of “Heavy Rotation” for the AKB48 Request Hour Best Setlist 2014 and saying that she is her favorite junior, now Mion will become the center for AKB48.
